About Dr Shanmugasundar G

Dr Shanmugasundar is a senior Endocrinologist based at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He started his career with Magna in 2015 when he set up the first clinic at KK Nagar, Chennai. He is one of the founding team members of Magna centres and is the head of operations of Chennai Centre. In 2017, Centre was upgraded and shifted to Ashok Nagar, Chennai.

He has also been a visiting Consultant with ESI hospitals for over 5 years now. 
 

  • He and his team are highly regarded by other doctors for management of conditions like Gestational diabetes and PCOS. Gynecologists and dermatologists who care for these patients routinely refer patients to Magna centres for management of these disorders

  • Dr Shanmugasundar has a popular YouTube channel link. He also contributes to the Magna YouTube channel link. Through these two YouTube channels he regularly contributes information which is in the public domain which is of great interest to patients and this is loud and subscribed by a lot of for all the public

Education and Experience

Dr Shanmugasundar carries with him a rich experience of more than a decade following his certification from the prestigious PGI Chandigarh. He has seen over 27,000 patients over the last seven years at Magna centres Chennai and over 20,000 patients in other centres at chennai

Dr Shanmugasundar did his MBBS from Tirunelveli Medical College, Tamil Nadu. Then he received his postgraduate training (MD Internal Medicine and DM Endocrinology) from prestigious institute PGIMER Chandigarh

Awards and Recognitions

  • Dr Shanmugasundar has received the best outgoing student in 2004 for academic performance in MBBS at Tirunelveli Medical college. He was the Tamilnadu Dr MGR university topper in Anatomy. He was also the topper in many subjects like Anatomy, physiology, microbiology, medicine and Surgery during his college days. He was also the recipient of AV Gandhi award for Best Clinical Acumen in Spot Diagnosis in Endocrinology – 2010.
